Meticulously hand-engraved by master metalsmith Kobayashi Masao, the bezel features a phoenix motif, a symbol of fortune and rebirth that captures the fearless spirit of the samurai. More than a timepiece, it represents a meeting point between historic Japanese sword craftsmanship and contemporary haute watchmaking, where heritage is forged directly into form.

Forged as a tribute to the artistry of the katana, the bezel becomes a canvas for Kobayashi&rsquo;s work. Echoing the form of a traditional sword guard, the composition is deliberately split, with the phoenix&rsquo;s head and tail appearing across the left and right sides of the bezel. Carved in bas-relief using the classical shishiai-bori engraving technique, the design gains remarkable depth and movement, bringing the phoenix vividly to life.

Complex and robust construction of the MRG

A rugged rock-grain relief along the bezel&rsquo;s perimeter adds further texture, reinforcing the sense of strength and dynamism. Finished in a deep blue-green kurogane-iro hue achieved through advanced hardening and DLC coating, the watch balances raw power with poetic beauty &mdash; a fitting emblem for a timepiece conceived at the threshold of a new year.

Accompanied by a Premium Production Line certificate, the watch represents the pinnacle of G-SHOCK technology, bringing together advanced functionality with uncompromising performance.
