Grand Seiko refreshes the Evolution 9 collection with a renewed expression of its modern watchmaking philosophy.

Grand Seiko revisits the heart of its Evolution 9 collection with nine refreshed references, introducing considered updates to design, materials and everyday comfort. Comprising five Spring Drive and four mechanical creations, the renewed lineup continues to build upon the principles of aesthetics, legibility and ergonomics that have defined Evolution 9 as a contemporary expression of the Grand Seiko Style.
Most of the new models retain the familiar 40mm proportions, but are complemented by a bracelet with greater taper for a more refined presence on the wrist. A new three step micro adjustment clasp allows tool free adjustments in 2mm increments, making it easier to achieve a precise and comfortable fit. Seven references are crafted from Ever Brilliant Steel, distinguished by its bright appearance and exceptional resistance to corrosion, while two are presented in lightweight High Intensity Titanium.

For the Spring Drive creations, Grand Seiko once again turns to the landscapes surrounding the Shinshu Watch Studio for inspiration. The signature Lake Suwa pattern returns on the SLGB013 and SLGB015, where lighter blue textured dials evoke morning sunlight shimmering across the lake. The SLGB007 offers an entirely different interpretation, presenting the Lake Suwa motif in black for the first time. Its darker character recalls the water illuminated by moonlight at midnight, while a High Intensity Titanium case and bracelet provide added lightness. Completing the Spring Drive selection are the SLGB009, inspired by white birch forests near the studio, and the SLGB011, which reflects the changing scenery of Nagano’s picturesque Atera Valley.
The mechanical collection similarly celebrates the natural environment surrounding the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi. The SLGH031 revisits the celebrated white birch dial, its deeply textured surface capturing the straight trunks and vitality of the forests of Iwate Prefecture. The motif also appears on the black SLGH029, recalling the tranquillity of the forest after dark, and the green SLGH033, inspired by white birch trees illuminated by summer sunlight. The light blue SLGH035 completes the collection with a textured dial influenced by Genbi Valley, its rocky landscape and the refreshing waters of the Iwai River.

Behind these nature inspired expressions sit two of Grand Seiko’s most advanced movements. The five Spring Drive models house Calibre 9RB2, the Spring Drive U.F.A. introduced in 2025, delivering an exceptional annual accuracy of ±20 seconds and 72 hours of power reserve. The four mechanical references are driven by the high beat Calibre 9SA5, operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour and providing approximately 80 hours of autonomy. Together, these technical achievements reinforce the Evolution 9 collection’s pursuit of precision while its thoughtful exterior refinements make the latest generation more comfortable and compelling than ever.
